Join usAP!
But wait - why would you even want to be a UASP member? Here are some reasons you might want to consider joining UASP or renewing your membership:
- You become eligible for significant discounts to conferences and free admission to workshops and webinars provided throughout the year - in fact, if you attend just one conference in the year, that often more than covers the cost of your membership!
- You receive monthly electronic newsletters and research summaries that keep you up-to-date on research outcomes, current state and national events, and important resources pertinent to school psychology.
- You become eligible to apply for mini-grants to purchase supplies or materials you need, mini-grants to help fund attendance for professional development opportunities to increase your capacity, and stipends to help you advocate with state legislators - if you receive just one grant or stipend every three to four years (these grants are not very competitive), that would cover the cost of your membership!
- You help support and/or may be eligible for scholarships that help support increasing the diversity of school psychologists in Utah!
- You gain access to the Members Resources section of the website with helpful presentations, handouts, and links on a variety of topics that increase each year!
- You support and become part of an all-volunteer organization that has effectively advocated for changing disability labels within special education rules, adding school psychologists to state grants for educational opportunities, including school psychologists in legislative funding increases, and including school psychologists by name in bills that previously only included other professionals such as school counselors or school social workers.
- You support an organization that has increased awareness of the field of school psychology and student mental health through published articles in local newspapers, appearing on podcasts, and on television.
We invite you to become a member of UASP and join a dedicated group of professionals as we carry out our mission! Our voice is so much stronger when we join together to advocate for our profession and for the students and families we serve!
