Mission Statement

The member organizations of UCSS work collaboratively to enhance Utah students mental health and wellness by:

  • Advocating for students and our members needs with a collective voice
  • Providing diversified training opportunities for members
  • Improving communication between professions
  • Creating strong relationships between groups/members
  • Supporting one another’s professional organization initiatives
Through our collective efforts, we seek to create a cohesive and impactful network that positively impacts the lives of students.

The Utah Coalition of School-Based Specialists (UCSS) was born from the realization that as professionals in the workplace, particularly schools, we are frequently working closely together as a team to support students and teachers. It seemed only natural that our organizations would then work together as a continuation of that team work. The adage, "we get more done together than we do apart," rings very true for our professions.

We hope that together we can create change, empower our organizations, and best support our members and their students.

Members

The Utah Coalition of School Based Specialists is a collaborative effort between the following organizations, and other educational stakeholder groups as appropriate (i.e. USBE, PTA, Universities etc.):

  • Utah Association of School Psychologists
  • Utah School Counselor Association
  • Utah Association of School Social Workers
  • Utah Association for Behavior Analysis
  • Utah Association of School Nurses
UASP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
