PM Session Presenter Bios:
Bryan Bushman, Ph.D. - Bryan is a therapist with over 16 years of full-time practice. In that time he has developed a strong commitment to helping individuals heal from anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. Since completing formal training in 2008, Bryan has worked extensively with adults suffering from trauma, depression, anxiety, and traumatic brain injury. He has worked with adolescents and children with ADHD, autism, learning problems, self-harm behaviors, and mood disturbance. He is passionate about hiking, medication, community outreach, and chasing his toddler (mostly unsuccessfully).
Aaron Fischer, Ph.D., BCBA-D - Dr. Fischer has been working with individuals with mental health and social, emotional, and behavioral problems, and their families, for over 15 years. Dr. Fischer completed his master’s and doctoral degree in school psychology at Louisiana State University, where he provided multi-tiered school mental and behavior health supports across Louisiana. Before arriving at the University of Utah in 2014, he completed his predoctoral internship in clinical psychology at the May Institute in Massachusetts. His internship and graduate work focused on providing evidence-based practices in schools, hospitals, and mental health clinics to children with disabilities and their families. Specifically, Dr. Fischer’s practice and research interests concentrate on culturally responsive assessment and treatment to support children and adolescents with social-emotional and behavioral concerns, as well as providing consultation support and training to caregivers and educators. Dr. Fischer’s work specifically focuses on teleconsultation and telehealth for school-based MTSS services. Currently, Dr. Fischer is an Associate Professor of school psychology and adjunct associate professor of psychiatry. He serves as the director the University of Utah Technology in Training, Education, and Consultation (U-TTEC) Lab and directs the Utah School Mental Health Collaborative, which partners with numerous school districts across Utah to provide technical assistance, training, and mental health support for education settings. Dr. Fischer also directs the Huntsman Mental Health Institute HOME interdisciplinary pediatric feeding disorders clinic. Dr. Fischer is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
